Dubai Health Care City is a Free Zone committed to bringing the best of health care, medical education and research in the region. The mission of this health care city is to create a platform for the provision of healthcare, education and research services within an informed regulatory framework. Dubai Healthcare City, the world's first healthcare center among the Dubai free zones, boasts two complementary communities, namely, the Medical Community and the Wellness Community. The Medical Community, occupying an area of 4.1 million square feet, focuses on clinical services for disease treatment and prevention, while the Wellness Community, 19 million square feet, completes Dubai Health City’s healthcare continuum by housing hospitals, outpatient clinics, luxury spa resorts, and the entire spectrum of wellness services.
The Medical Community is home to medical, dental, nursing and allied health schools. These schools offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) courses and postgraduate education to healthcare professionals. Complementing the conventional medical services at Health City-Dubai, there are a vast array of diagnostic laboratories, pharmacies, medical equipment companies, healthcare recruitment firms, healthcare consulting firms and pharmaceutical companies.
The Medical Community also delivers an impressive portfolio of complementary support services. A five star hotel dedicated to patients’ families, staff, visiting doctors and students is yet another example of our comprehensive support services.
The Wellness Community complements the range of medical services being developed in the Medical Community by housing a significant portion of it with world class hospitals, specialist clinics and day-surgery centers. As an alternative setting to medical office buildings, a cluster of villas are devoted to conventional and alternative medicine outpatient clinics. A number of these villas will be dedicated to day surgery and cosmetic procedure clinics operated by internationally-renowned plastic surgeons.
This cluster is beautifully landscaped and is located immediately adjacent to a large medical wellness resort. With the growing demands for holistic treatment, Dubai Health Care City’s Wellness Community offers alternative medical care such as acupuncture, chiropractic services, and osteopathy. This option greatly appeals to business executives and medical tourists seeking medical check-ups, alternative treatments, or medically-supervised health programs. The long list of services also includes physiotherapy, regimented diet and exercise, and specialist consultations on regionally-specific ailments. This medical free zone has driven the health care in Dubai to great heights in terms of technology and treatment.
Location
Dubai Healthcare City site is located in Bur Dubai alongside Rashid Hospital, a short distance from the tranquil surroundings of Dubai Creek and the Creek side park. DHCC lies in the heart of the city and is accessible from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain through Sheikh Zayed Road. Additionally, is located 4 kilometers from Dubai International Airport and is only 5 minutes from City Center Mall. In the near future, Dubai Metro will allow access to DHCC patrons via the Green Line with its own designated stop, "Healthcare City Station". This state-of-the-art railway system will allow easy access in and out of DHCC for the patients, families and staff.
Dubai Health City’s total site comprises of two phases, which include the disease treatment, prevention and wellness facilities. The first phase, located behind Wafi City, Dubai, is approximately 4.1 million square feet in size. The second phase, dedicated to wellness facilities, comprising of 19 million square feet of land, will allow DHCC to offer the complete healthcare continuum, including hospitals, wellness and clinical centers. Dubai Health City’s services and facilities will be available to the UAE, the whole of the Middle East, and surrounding regions.
